For the purposes of this workshop, the term “police governance” referred to the direction, control and oversight of the policy (including civilian, military and intermediary police forces) by all concerned stakeholders. The first day of the workshop addressed the role of parliament in police governance, with a focus on the challenges faced by parliaments in police government and on how parliaments can better contribute to responsive and accountable policing. The second day of the workshop focused on the implementation of ASEAN Political Security Community and on challenges of transnational migration.
